Tofino, Day 2

Day 2 of our trip began with coffee, of course, and then whipping up some French toast. Luna waited patiently while sipping her hot chocolate.

Grandpa and Grace read a book while they waited for breakfast.

Finally! It was time to eat. We are extremely lucky that the girls usually are so happy to be around each other. Luna continues to be a terrific big sister.

Grace gives good smooches.

Luna likes to return the favor.

This drawing board has been one of our best purchases to entertain the girls while traveling, or out at restaurants. Grace is still just getting the hang of it, but she enjoys it nonetheless.

We're getting ready to head to the beach again to explore the rocky seashore. Luna thought she would try the back pack.

Daddy's ready to go.

Completely surrounded by beauty. oh how I love this place.

Love you, dad.

It was great climbing around on these rocks, but we had to be really careful. One of the neatest parts was finding small pools that get "trapped" by the rocks as the tide goes out. So many cool little critters.

Oma is taking it all in.

Luna wanted to join her.

Those are pink sea anemone just under the water. Every bit of space was covered by them. Above the water line, they are all closed but if you look closely, you can see that they are everywhere!

Sea creatures galore! Look at the size of those barnacles and mussels!!!

Grace is all about texture right now. She kept running her hands through the sand, picking it up and letting it slowly fall out. She is so observant. Very fun to watch.

Miss Luna is fiercely protecting her drawing.

Cheeeese!

Don't you want to just eat me up?

"Grandpa"

"old fart"

Luna climber. I told her to stay low like a crab, and she just took off!

First Nations art on the campground theatre.

Grace is getting more confident on her feet. She wanted to be everywhere Luna was.

Time to get ready for bed. This is often combined with silly time.

Mommy gets dragged in.

Time for smores!
