It's that time of year again. Time to bundle up in sweats and heavy coats and make our way to the pool. I think the funniest thing about going to the pool is seeing all the under-dressed moms who wrap themselves in their kids' towels to try and stay warm. We had a bit of sun this year, but some days that were just downright cold. Luna continues to take to the pool like a fish. She is getting more and more comfortable putting her head under water and is beginning to get the idea of strokes. Toward the end of the lessons, she seemed a little more interested in what the big kids in Level 3 were doing. She was mimicking some of what was going on. Pretty funny. We'll see what happens. But for now..."Le-vel 2 is the best! Yay, Level 2!" Grace took a few more days to get used to the whole idea of being with someone other than mom or dad. After a couple of rocky starts, she got into it, and became giddy when she got in the pool. Most of the instructors have been there several years and do a great job with the little ones and big ones alike. We love Bayside!
That tongue. It was everywhere.
She LOVED this ball!
She's growing up too fast. Not a baby anymore.
Peas! The peas are finally ready. Luna tried them but didn't have many. Grace couldn't get enough.
Look at that mouth.
Uncle Ken's Birthday!
We don't see Uncle Ken and Auntie Steph enough, so it was great to get to go see them for Uncle Ken's birthday. Luna always gets particularly excited because she knows Auntie Steph will have something fun or special for her. Thanks Steph! She also loves Uncle Ken's birthday because she gets to help decorate the cake! And then EAT it! WITH ICE CREAM! Wow.
She poured the speckles on and then used the fingers to spread them out a bit. Hey we're all family.
Proud of her decorating skillz.
Special delivery!
Then comes the fire.
Okay, yes, you're cute. We get it.
Careful. Careful. Please be careful.
PLEASE be careful!
Almost there...
Oh good. They made it.
Now blow!
Grace got in the action as well.
This stuff rocks! What is it?
Grace: a future in Ultimate?
Fun times just hanging out at home...
Preparing for the Sunnyland Stomp. This year we are featuring crepes: ham, onion, gouda; spicy "fish on fire" with lime, cilantro, and avocado; and berries and chocolate.
I just love the hair/pull-up combination.
Not sure they've used enough paint yet.
Hola.
Sarah and baby Owen!!!
Look out. Luna has a new bike. And she's not afraid to announce it. To everyone. Especially everyone not in a house or in a car. Especially that lady pulling weeds in front of her fence. (Sorry.) So ya. Look out.
Grace is not so impressed.
Look out Gus. Don't get too close.
Looking a little more confident. Poor Gus.
So stoked.
Okay follow these next pictures carefully.
All looks good here.
Picking up speed. Looking determined. Mom is taking pictures.
She went in to the street! Brian has never moved so fast! Also notice the car coming from behind and Gus no longer being held.
Whew. A little blood. But all is good otherwise. Gus made it out alive too.
I. Can't. Walk. It. Hurts. This is when my mom used to pull out the hydrogen peroxide. I hated that stuff.
"Cool, daddy. It's real blood!" She still talks about it to this day. "Remember when I had real blood coming out?"
"I'm tough!" You go grrl.
