My Homies

Luna has been hanging out with lots of other mini-people this week. She is becoming more aware of her surroundings and seems to enjoy seeing other babies and watch their actions. Here are some of the peeps Luna's been hangin' with lately.

This week we had a wonderful visit at Oma's house with Lynnelle's Auntie Nancy, Cousin Kristen and her two kids, Nolan & Kenedee.

Cousin Kenedee loved patting Luna's head

Kenedee & Luna were practicing their push-ups

Luna loved watching her older cousin sitting up on her own

Luna got to hang out with her buddy Marcus twice! Once at our monthly Belling-hamster dinner and then again when Marcus had Luna over to babysit.

Luna also got to meet a new friend this week, Maya. Maya lives right around the corner which will be great fun! While the parents ate pumpkin loaf and chatted, Maya and Luna had a little play time. If leg kicking is an indication of enjoyment, the girls seemed to have a really good time hanging out.

Bow Down to Washington?

It's been a tough year to be a Husky football fan. Despite the team's 0-9 record entering yesterday's game, Luna decided to sport her Husky colors with pride (thanks to Auntie Steph for knitting the purple & gold hat and booties!). What slim hopes we had that the Dawgs could pull out a win against their former coach and the UCLA Bruins was dashed by the early 3rd quarter. Nonetheless, Luna is optimistic about next week's Apple Cup. She's convinced the Coug's are going down - sorry Uncle Pat & Aunt Emily.

Spirits were still high as the game was getting started

Luna began to take a more serious tone as the Dawgs began to fall behindBy the 4th Quarter it was getting to ugly to watch

Happy 2 month Birthday Luna!

It's hard to believe that little Luna Clare is already 2 months old this week! At her 2 month doctor visit this morning she weighed in at 13 pounds 4 ounces and is already almost 24 inches long! She has changed so much already from our first postings just 9 weeks ago. Brian and I are having a blast hanging out with and getting to know Luna. Here are some random photos of the babe over the last couple of weeks. So much fun!

Fort Ebey

Here are pics from our recent outing to Fort Ebey State Park on Whidbey Island. It was a blustery NW day, but the fresh air was wonderful! Luna slept the whole time, so obviously the weather didn't bother her one bit - a true Washington babe.

Whistler Weekend

Luna had her first international adventure over Veteran's Day/Remembrance Day (for our Canadian readers) weekend. This holiday marks our annual trip to Whistler BC with some dear friends for a weekend of traditionally bad weather, great food, games and conversation. Luna was disappointed that Uncle Bob & Shane could not join in the fun this year, but she still managed to have a pretty good time.

Our meager housing arrangements in Whistler

Napping was needed to keep up on all the fun

Surfin' the web & watching Olbermann with Uncle Brian

Luna got to finally meet Raj

Luna & Lauren - so cute!

Trivial Pursuit - a weekend requirement

Hanging out with Kristen

How could you not?

All smiles when we first get in line at the border to come home

Will you please stop taking my picture already!

O Baby!

Luna celebrated election night by dressing up in her favorite "onesie" and heading over to the McClanahan's to watch the results. She was very pleased with the outcome, as were her parents! There wasn't a dry eye in the Buckeye room as Obama gave his acceptance speech to the nation. It was a great first election night for little Luna!
It's another Obama baby!Yes we can! We're still pinching ourselves...

Happy Halloween!

We started Halloween Day by meeting our friends Rebecca and Rowan for coffee & a trip to the bookstore. Rowan had a sweet Halloween costume. Check out his Kangaroo jacket (complete with a baby kangaroo and a tail!).
Luna finally made it into her costume later in the day. I think she did a great job staying in character as we had many visitors stop by through the evening!

Sarah whirled in to show off her Tasmanian Devil costume and say 'hi' to Luna

I couldn't resist borrowing Sarah's costume for a photo op. In case you're wondering what's up with Brian's hair....it was crazy hair day at school. (His hair has since been fixed)
Bob stayed to help hand out candy and pencils to trick-or-treaters
Marcus came over to put out any fires ....

...and help greet trick-or-treaters.

Luna had little self-control and ate most of her candy right away
Hopefully she learned her lesson and will conserve more next year
