Luna Meets The Atlantic Ocean!

This morning we loaded into the truck and made the 15 mile trek to the ocean. It was already 82 degrees at 9:30, so we were looking forward to a little relief. When we arrived, we walked out on a pier to see what was biting. The beach goes on for miles in either direction as you can see here. Miles and miles of white, soft, sandy beaches. Neat-o.

Grandpa hauled "Chunk" in the cart. "Luna beach!"

She couldn't get out of that thing fast enough. Her eyes immediately cast on the water.

And away she went, making sure her shadow was keeping pace.

No fear, this girl. She walked right in.

Grandpa decided to make sure she didn't go for an unexpected swim.

All smiles. "Daddy sit down!" No thanks.

I don't know if she was having fun. It's a little hard to tell. :-)

Then she wanted to go where the big kids were playing. Daddy thought it best to accompany her.

"Boy! Ball!"

After a couple of hours in the sun and the sand, we headed home with the girl, kicking and screaming. As with all of our outings on the trip so far, we had a great time.

Following a much needed refueling (lunch), Luna went and locked herself in the bathroom! Or more accurately, she locked us out. She refused to come open the door. We heard some noises and then...quiet. She wouldn't respond to our calls anymore.

"Please open the door."

Knowing that silence and children often equals mischief, dad went and found a screwdriver to open the door. Here is little missy standing on the stool she moved in front of the sink trying to turn on the water to the sink to wash her hands. Little stinker.

More Florida Pictures!

Not in a mood to mess with everything. Sorry these are out of order.

Taking a break from the heat and humidity in St. Augustine with some durn good strawberry ice cream. "Luna do it!!"

The oldest wood school house in the USA. Thanks for the heads up Lauren!

Yeah! Auntie Sarah finally arrived!

The girl takes a break from the heat to enjoy some water. She's drinking a lot of it down here.

Three generations heading toward the Airstream to have a look. It was sweet!

Now it was Katie's turn to get pulled. She wasn't so sure about this, but Luna was having fun.

Don't you love that smile?

This is Luna eating her first (we think) cheeseburger from an unnamed fast food chain. I am so ashamed. But we were in a hurry and the girl needed something to eat before she wasted away to nothing. You know how delicate she is. Dallas airport has these great rocking chairs like the ones in Seattle. Too bad the view wasn't as gorgeous.

Daddy and Luna cheesin' it up for the camera before take off.

The girl was so excited to see the airplanes up close. "Luna airplane!" She was reading us all the letters on the different planes she saw. Great fun.

Fun in the Sun in Florida

It's our second day in Orange Park, FL just south of Jacksonville. Luna did pretty well on the plane trip down. Grandpa Pahl, Grandma Teri and Auntie Sarah took us to Salt Springs to soak up some sun and try out swimming. We'll add other pics later, but here are a few of our day on the water.

Grandpa is explaining the intricate buttons and dials of our yacht. Grandma Teri showed Luna the horn! She was all ready to drive.

"Luna water! Luna water!" She was excited and ready to jump right in.

Hangin' in the shade. It was the smart place to be.

Luna's favorite Florida auntie. "Want to see Sarah."

Lovey got its chance to drive the boat on the way back to the marina.

Chillin' with Grandpa.

Now we're by the "cold" water back up close to the spring. We had a fabulous day. Tomorrow, we're heading to St. Augustine!
