Luna attentively listened to the debate on Tuesday night. Brian and I can't help but use our child to shamelessly promote our candidate of choice. I feel a little guilty. OK, maybe not so much.
Luna was born with a heart murmur. An echocardiogram at two weeks indicated she had two small "holes" in her heart, a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and a larger Atrial Septal Defect (ASD). Thursday we headed down to Children's Hospital for a follow up. Another echocardiogram showed that both Luna's VSD and ASD are smaller then they were in the first test. The VSD is "insignificant" and is expected to completely close on its own. The ASD has decreased in size and will continue to be monitored over the next several months. As long as Luna continues to grow and thrive as she has been doing, she will probably have a procedure to close the ASD around the age of 4 with no long term health effects. Luna was a trooper through all of her tests!
Luna's on the bed between the pillows during her echocardiogram
Each of the 12 white strips on Luna's chest had a lead attached for her EKG
We also had fun this week going out for walks, hanging out at home, visiting the folks in Anacortes and meeting all the ladies in book club. Here are a few more pictures from the week.
