Family Time

Luna fell asleep on the deck after getting home.  Gracie wanted to play and tried waking her up.
Get up!

I knew you were awake!

Gracie wants to be like her big sis.  Luna shared her "dinner snack" with her little sis.

Luna helped Gracie drink out of a big girl cup

Gracie is walking all over now!

At the "Red Slide" park

Gracie is such a love.  Getting kisses from momma.

Sorry about the blurry picture, but this cracked me up.  Gracie LOVES going down the slides and often ends up coming out head first and laughing hysterically.

Evening June sky

Luna has been constantly moving the deck chairs around for us to ride on her train or bus (depends on the day).  Every time I try to move them back to their original places, I will come outside a little while later and she has them arranged back into this configuration.

More Fun in June and the AQUARIUM!

June always brings interesting weather. Walking Gus the other morning I turned a corner and saw these gorgeous rainbows. You can just barely make out the second, smaller one on the left.

Grace has begun taking steps! You know she is good when she can walk AND tell the dog next door "No!" at the same time.

We watched "The Incredibles" the other night. Luna really enjoyed it and has been acting incredible ever since. Today she asked me if we could make her an Incredibles mask. Luckily we had some black construction paper...

Now that Uncles Brian and Raj have moved back to the best coast AND have a place near the Aquarium, we are making frequent trips their way. Here are the girls relaxing on the futon.

And giving some love on the futon, too! This didn't last long. So glad we got this shot.

Yes, Luna still brings Lovey (we have 8 of these things now because she can't be without it) just about everywhere. Lovey wanted to come along on our trek to see the belugas. There she is riding in Luna's shirt.

Grace is really checking things out now, too. She got a kick out of the fish. And of course, out of anything Luna did.

Check these guys out. A bunch of the fish in the front right of the tank were eyeing something in the upper left hand corner. After several minutes, we still couldn't figure it out.

Kiss daddy.

Kiss Luna, too!

So precious watching these two.

Getting in some practice.

Luna's totally favorite spot. The last time we were here she stood out in the rain for almost 30 minutes. Luckily today was warm and sunny.

I didn't know whether to be sad about this or to think it was kind of cool. There is a stuffed porpoise down here that really seems to attract the attention of this actual porpoise in the picture. It comes down regularly to check on or visit the stuffed animal regardless of which window it is in. Cool for the kids but I can't help but wonder if the porpoise is concerned.

Having a blast.

Someone is getting t-i-r-e-d.

On to the crafts station. Must. Stay. Awake.

Almost finished.

Moving quickly now to see the turtles and the sharks.

Absolute. Complete. Total. Breakdown. "I do NOT want to go home now! I will NOT go home!" Lovely.

Luna Incredible!

After watching the Incredibles for family movie night recently, Luna has been all about being a Super Hero with Super Powers.  Brian helped her make a mask just like the Incredibles have and she was all over it.  Gotta love this girl!

Grace and Tidepools!

Saw this at the Farmer's Market and decided to give it a try with some of Luna's old boots.

Grace continues growing so fast. We don't have a little baby anymore. Well, I guess she was never a little baby. She is pulling herself up on everything trying to balance and walk. She absolutely LOVES her big sister. Listening to them laugh and squeal from their bedroom is priceless. She is eating books less now and beginning to take more interest in pictures. Not sure if her lack of interest to this point is that we have read to her less than we did with Luna or that she just isn't interested or maybe she is just developing differently than Luna did. Of course that is possible! :-) Luna was just so interested in books so early on. It's been an adjustment with Grace. We are trying not to push her of course, but want to be sure reading is a normal part of her day.

Grace also continues to be very happy and is becoming more social, less shy. She LOVES music. Whenever music comes on, she stops what she is doing to clap her hands and shake her body. So fun to watch. I was in the car the other day and she was in the back bobbing her head up and down. Hilarious.

I made this video for my students to prepare them for our trip to the low tide zone. We went as a family to see all the wonderful creatures and plants. Low tide in June is usually pretty extreme, so we get to see some awesome stuff. Luna had a blast until she took a little spill and was introduced to barnacles up close. Luckily, it wasn't too bad as you'll soon see.

Pretty in Pink

I don't know how my rough, tumble, tom-boyish daughter has a LOVE for all things pink.  But she does.  She is infatuated with pink.  So it shouldn't surprise me that she got all "dolled" up this morning in a pink towel wrap, sunglasses, furry tiara, sparkly sandals and purse.  Not only does she enjoy the look, she sure has the poses to go with it.  To make it even more funny, we couldn't get her out of the towel all day and she insisted on wearing it out to a friends house that evening.  Hilarious.  Gotta love this girl.

Pool time

Luna, Gracie & I headed down to Oma & Grandpa's house to play in the pool and see cousin Hugo.  The girls loved the water and spent most of the visit in the water, soaking up the sun.

Hugo was not as into the pool as the girls.  Or maybe he just liked it more calm without the girls in it.

Taking a pool break

The toddlers get some time in the pool alone, finally!
