Kicking off Summer (a little early)

As usual, we have had some fabulous summer-like weather this Spring in Bellingham.  Like most Belling-hamsters, we don't take this sunshine for granted & head outside to enjoy every possible minute of it (especially since Brian has made the backyard look so nice!).  We particularly love this time of year because it makes our small house seem so much bigger when we extend out living space onto the back deck and backyard.  For us, this means enjoying our morning coffee outside as well as having friends over for grilling and hanging out.  Here is some of the fun we have been having over the past several weeks.....

Luna & Sarah were having so much fun, Gracie decided to join with her clothes on

Our busy girl has scrapes & bruises all over her body.  Please tell me this is normal for a preschooler?

Shane was in town!  We hosted a gathering including friends of Brian & Raj from Toronto & Australia...we are so international!

Sarah & Luna retired inside for some movie time on the couch

Time to say "Goodnight"

With all our guests gone, Luna decides to have a private night time dance party on the deck

Mary Alice came to visit Sarah & made fast friends with Luna

Gracie is getting closer to walking, but not quite there yet

Lots of hugs for Sarah

Getting her baby time in early....

Luna LOVES Eli. Big hugs as they get ready to leave.

The Tail is Back

As some of you may remember, Gracie was born with quite the head of hair (see Blog posts from April 2011).  I succumbed early on and had the tail chopped during one of Luna's hair cuts.  But, despite our efforts, the tail persists and here is photo evidence to confirm.  No plans to get it chopped yet, but stay posted.... it's coming off in the near future!

Yard work & Children's Art Walk

Brian has been waiting for a L-O-N-G time to put some ground cover in the garden.  He finally got his wish this weekend when DeYoung's delivered a huge pile of gravel onto our parking pad and he had to get to work.  Luna was all about helping her dad out and got to work right away.  That evening they headed into town for the annual Children's Art Walk.  Brian's class displayed their Ansel Adams - inspired photos at Bella Flora.  After checking out the Room 12 display, they took in other class displays all over downtown.

Our neighbor Bob was generous enough to loan us his sweet wheelbarrow

Love it!

Tree-hugger Luna

Just like her daddy!

Playing "King of the Hill" after the Art Walk. She was PISSED the next morning when she came out and the pile was gone!

So excited to FINALLY have this done!

Cardboard Box

It's true what they say about kids and cardboard boxes (they are cooler then any other toy).  Gracie decided she saw opportunity in a case of Toasty O's Brian bought at the Co-Op. After emptying out a couple of boxes of cereal, she climbed in and sat down, using the remaining boxes as a drum set.  When we finally pulled her out, she was not a happy camper!
